Yes, CN Goodall is an entirely independent financial advisory firm. Being independent allows the consultants to provide unbiased, objective advice and select financial solutions based strictly on the unique requirements of each individual client.

Who do we work with?

We work with clients from a range of backgrounds, including Swiss residents, international professionals and those with cross-border financial circumstances. Our advice is tailored to each client’s individual needs, circumstances and long-term objectives.

Where are we located?

Our office is located at Zugerstrasse 77, 6340 Baar, Switzerland. You can reach us locally at +41 (0) 41 763 1903, and we are happy to meet with clients by appointment.

What is our client philosophy?

We treat your money like our own. We only recommend financial investments and pension strategies that we would confidently use ourselves, focusing entirely on helping you build long-term wealth.

Do we offer advice on Swiss pensions?

Yes, we provide guidance across the entire Swiss pension system. We advise on Pillar 2 workplace pensions, buy-ins and Vested Benefits when changing jobs or moving, as well as tax-deductible Pillar 3a private savings. We also help structure Pillar 3b flexible pensions, giving you tax-efficient savings without fixed contribution limits or withdrawal restrictions.

When you leave employment in Switzerland, are in between jobs or move abroad, your accrued 2nd Pillar pension assets are transferred into a Vested Benefits account. We assist in managing, consolidating and investing these funds tax-efficiently, or safely withdrawing them depending on your destination country.

What is a Swiss 3rd Pillar and why do I need one?

A 3rd Pillar is a private, tax-advantaged pension plan in Switzerland. Pillar 3a contributions can be deducted directly from your taxable income each year, providing significant tax savings while helping you grow retirement wealth. We help you structure and choose the optimal Pillar 3 provider based on your investment preferences.

What is a financial health check and how do I get started?

A financial health check is a comprehensive review of your current income, investments, pensions and Swiss tax position. During your free initial consultation, we evaluate your overall setup and identify clear opportunities to optimise tax, lower fees, or improve investment growth.

Can we help with transferring or consolidating UK or overseas pensions to Switzerland?

Yes, we specialise in international pension transfers, including UK QROPS/SIPP transfers. We review your existing overseas schemes, evaluate transfer implications and recommend compliant, tax-efficient transfer strategies.

Do we provide FATCA-compliant financial planning for US citizens living in Switzerland?

Yes, we do. American expats and Green Card holders face complex reporting and compliance rules under FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) and IRS regulations. We provide tailored financial planning, investment strategies and pension guidance that adhere to both US tax laws and Swiss regulations, ensuring your portfolio remains fully compliant.

Can we help with purchasing property in Switzerland?

Buying real estate in Switzerland involves navigating local deposit requirements, mortgage structures and pension usage rules (using Pillar 2 or 3a funds). We guide you through mortgage planning and structuring your assets to buy your home smoothly.
